Dear Friend,
Let us place ourselves among the disciples as Jesus encourages His disciples to keep their faith with the Holy Spirit.
When John wrote the Gospel for this Sunday, Jesus had already risen from the dead, the disciples had received the Holy Spirit and journeyed with Him to many nations in Asia. They knew that what Jesus had told them and what the Holy Spirit was revealing to them was the truth. It is now their responsibility to spread this truth.
John recalled how Jesus introduced the Holy Spirit to them. This Gospel 16:12-15 was a part of that explanation.
Read this Gospel slowly to your family.
As you listen to the words of Jesus, what do these words mean to each of us now?
Prayer and Reflection ~
By myself alone, I will not know the complete truth. Jesus said, it is the Holy Spirit who will lead me and reveal the truth about God.
How will the Spirit speak to me? Jesus said, He would be in me, as He would be in everyone. I have to listen to the Spirit in each other. He is in the families I am meeting.
How do I know that it is the Spirit of truth who speaks? I will know if the words I hear are words of love, to make me love, to make me come out of myself, reach out and give myself to these families.
It is the Spirit if by what I do I will give glory to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
